Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Market Development Director to join one of the world’s leading Gen-Z technology businesses, leading their brand partnerships, marketplace and commercial growth across Germany.

The business already has a strong market share and platform in Germany and is looking to accelerate its position quickly.

This role is a “mini General Manager” whose remit will cover all in-market audience growth, brand partner acquisition, revenue and relationship growth, German market performance & commercial P&L management.

Ideally, we are looking for a commercial leader with a strong “youth” or ”Gen-Z” audience and brand partnership experience. 

This role will:
  • Track markets and trends, recommend new products and services, grow, and identify new, strategic partnerships, and help guide the long-term objectives to meet business requirements
  • Develop and implement German audience and partner strategy
  • Lead & drive the in-market commercial and marketing teams
  • Lead commercial and marketing efforts to grow the audience base and partner with local brands in Germany. 
  • Manage the P&L for the German market, set budgets, monitor financial performance, and make adjustments to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Create marketing campaigns that resonate with the German youth demographic.
  • Negotiate partnerships with German retailers and brands, and tailor the value proposition to meet the needs and preferences of the local audience.
  • A strong focus on revenue growth through user acquisition and retention, as well as cost management.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all stakeholders in the German market (including internal teams and external partners). 
  • Foster strong relationships with key partners and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction 
  • Identify and act on opportunities for innovation within the German market, such as introducing new features, services, or partnerships that can enhance the business value proposition.
  • Provide business-wide reporting on market performance and strategic initiatives.

This is a brand-new role that will spearhead new growth and expansion across an already healthy base.

The business operates a highly remote working model. You will have the ability to use ‘Spaces’ offices near you and across the country. There will be travel across Germany visiting and working with Brand partners and the occasional trip to London to work with the senior leadership and commercial teams at the EMEA HQ
